Mental health and wellbeing

Support to help you manage your own mental wellbeing, and help others to do the same.
A young tattooed person is sitting on the floor with their back against a wooden slatted fence. They are looking out into the open and smiling.

It may not always feel like it, especially if you’re particularly stressed or not feeling like yourself, but there is support available for people working in film, TV, and cinema – and you’re not alone. It’s important to seek help when you need it and getting help early can make it easier to get on top of things.

How we can help

In the moment support

You can talk to our Film and TV Support Line on 0800 054 0000 or by using our Live Chat. Our Support Line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides in-the-moment support. All our services are free of charge, completely confidential, and totally independent.

Counselling

Anyone working behind the scenes can request a referral for up to six free counselling sessions through our Support Line. Sessions can take place in person or remotely. Our counsellors are BACP accredited and have a broad range of experience, including supporting those in the industry from under-represented groups, such as Black and Global Majority clients and people who identify as LGBTQI+. In addition, translators can be arranged for a range of languages, and you can access a counsellor who uses British Sign Language.
